Barbie gets a PC makeover

The twiggy doll is now available in different shapes, colours and sizes, although she still doesn't look too realistic to us.

According to the press release, Mattel hopes to encourage conversation with its new dolls.

“This is about more than just the new body shapes – it’s about the variety and diversity in the ethnicities, hair styles, fashions etc that are part of this new line. In country as diverse as South Africa, this new line means that our young girls have more choices – these dolls look like us!” the press release stated.

What do you think of the new dolls? Do they represent average South African women or are they still missing the mark?
