Arthur says he’s inspired to write a book about Brenda Fassie

The king of Kwaito Arthur Mafokate has hinted that his new project might be a book on his experiences with the late Brenda Fassie.

Mafokate, who has lived through more than two decades in the local music industry and worked with various leading artists who have graced us with their musical talents over the years, took to Instagram recently and posed a magazine picture of him and MaBrrr back in the days captioned: “Someone just sent me this picture with its stains; what touched me is the message that came with it – I need to write a book/s – Love you MaBrrr.”

The legendary Afropop singer who was dubbed “the Madonna of the townships” by Time magazine is well known for her popular songs “Weekend Special”, “Too Late for Mama” and “Vulindlela” that made her a household name and a force to be reckoned with.

She tragically died in her sleep at Sunninghill Hospital on May 9 2004.

We look forward to Arthur’s book possibly hitting our local book stores soon.
