In the wake of news that Grammy-winning R&B singer James Ingram passed away at age 66 after a long battle with brain cancer, prominent South African film producer Anant Singh paid tribute to the musician by posting about their collaboration for the legendary 1992 film Sarafina.
Along with a statement, Singh posted a link to a song Ingram worked on for the title sequence of the film.
“It was with deep sadness that I learnt of the passing of James Ingram. He had an amazing velvet smooth voice and was a giant in the music industry. I am delighted to have known him, having been introduced to him by our mutual friend Quincy Jones, who is also very distraught about his passing,” read Singh’s statement.
“We subsequently worked together when he did the song ‘One More Time’ for the end title sequence for our film, Sarafina!” added Singh before sending Ingram’s family his sympathy and love.
