The murder case of Daniel Rowland is set for a one-week trial from August 14.
Rowland briefly appeared in the Booysens Magistrate’s Court on February 24 for murder after a shooting incident at a Mulbarton restaurant in 2021.
His defence confirmed that they were ready for trial, which was set for August 14, 16, 17 and 18. Although the magistrate concurred that this is a lengthy adjournment, it was the only date they could find, which would accommodate everyone.
Eight witnesses are expected to take the stand to testify.
Rowland stands accused of injuring a woman in a restaurant after firing off a shot with his gun. The woman later died in the hospital.
His bail was extended.
