Loose assets on the block

On May 15, Van's Auctioneers in Phoenix, KwaZulu-Natal will sell a large number of loose assets formerly utilised in the scrap metal industry.


The vehicles and trucks to be sold include a Toyota Hino, a Nissan UD40, Kia 2.7 diesel, a Mercedes Benz Eco 1617, two Mercedes Benz 2628 Powerstar trucks and a Mercedes Benz Powerstar 4035, a Hitachi 2×120, a Honda CBX 250 motorcycle and a Manitou Forklift.

There are four trailers, including a 1 000-litre mobile diesel bowser, a 2004 Henred Fruehauf, a Copeland trailer, a flat deck trailer and a 40-foot weighbridge that can weigh an interlink.

There are many more loose assets such as a generator, cable stripper, diesel pump, a gravity fed shear, a manual operated proper, fibreglass tanks, bins, storage containers, concrete barriers, metal lockers, office furniture and appliances and a variety of assets that can be profitably disposed of for scrap metal.

Bidders must register and furnish proof of identity and residential address prior to the auction and a registration fee of

R20 000 is also payable at registration. The right is reserved to add or remove items on the auction.
