Hearts race at Scuderia auction

Park Village Auctions (PVA) recently landed a real auction coup in the form of a "superb" 2008 Ferrari F430 Scuderia.

With less than 6 000kms on the clock, the Scuderia was snapped up by an eager bidder for R2.3 million at PVA’s auction premises in Martindale.

Says PVA’s Graham van Niekerk: “It’s not every day a Ferrari Scuderia is seen on South Africa’s roads, let alone on the auction block. Yet at the beginning of October, there was one on PVA’s auction floor, beautifully polished and rearing to go.”

Developed along racing lines with the input of Michael Schumacher, the Scuderia has all the right ingredients.

Among other enviable technical features, the Scuderia is light and powerful, has an incredible weight-power ratio, a quick braking response and a manettino mounted on the steering wheel that allows the driver to adjust the car setup according to his or her needs. The Scuderia’s stylish interior is just as distinctive as its exterior, with the predominant aim of reducing weight reflected throughout.

“Needless to say, the Scuderia turned heads and we fielded a lot of interest prior to the auction. Bidding on the day was fierce but eventually one lucky bidder sealed the deal and walked away with arguably one of the most impressive cars PVA has ever auctioned. It was certainly a day to remember and pays testament to our ability to sell vehicles across the board.”
