Good things on offer

Kicking off with a massive auction of loose assets from a fruit and vegetable business, Chico da Silva will bring the hammer down on refrigeration, vegetable display and bakery equipment, shelving, check-out counters, point-of-sale systems, stainless steel tables and sinks, LDVs, distribution trucks, trailers and forklifts.

The lots are from a 33-year-old business with a reputable name – but all good things eventually come to an end.

“It’s an honour to be involved in a dissolution disposal like this,” says Da Silva. “Skill must match sensitivity to ensure a successful sale for all concerned.”

The auction starts at 10.30am and will be held at 122 North Rand Road in Boksburg.

It’s also not the only Consolidated outing on what is essentially a double-bill day. Much later, also on November 12, from 7pm at 10 President Street in Germiston, Da Silva will run the revs in the red – proverbially speaking of course – when he brings to market low-mileage late models from the best brands in the car business.

Almost all are there: Alfa, Citroën, Colt, Fiat, Ford, Honda, VW, Hyundai, Mazda, Nissan, Toyota and Opel.

Speaking of cars, the company’s last quarterly classic car sale of the year will be held on December 6. It’s an ideal opportunity for collectors to sell their golden oldies and free up some cash for a rainy day or, who knows, another grand cruiser.
