Digital Media Africa conference comes to Jozi

Digital media executives will gather in Johannesburg on September 28-30 this year at the Digital Media Africa conference held by the World Association of Newspapers and News Publishers (WAN-IFRA).

This year’s event will see big news brands share their digital strategies around four main themes:

  • Reader revenue
  • Distributed content
  • Metrics & KPIs
  • Millennials & Generation Z

The conference will showcase ongoing innovations to deal with digital and mobile becoming commonplace on the African continent.

“Innovation has no boundaries, and our members and colleagues in Africa are a true testament to that with their inspiring mobile initiatives,” says Vincent Peyrègne, CEO of WAN-IFRA. “There is so much to be learned from their example and to share with the rest of the world. It’s an incredibly exciting time there for publishing, and I am certain that same excitement will be on display at DM Africa.”

To celebrate and encourage these innovations WAN-IFRA have put out a call for entries to the Digital Media Africa Awards 2016 competition. The awards honour individuals and news publishing companies that have created ground-breaking digital products to engage readers while increasing their online business.

The competition, held in conjunction with Digital Media Africa 2016, is open to all news publishers in Africa. Categories include:
