Located at 221 Main Road in Martindale, PVA’s premises has long acted as one of the company’s primary car auction platforms. According to PVA’s chief car auctioneer, Clive Lazarus, its high visibility and accessibility have contributed greatly to the company’s success.
Commenting on current buying trends, Lazarus says he anticipates PVA will field the most demand for entry- to mid-level models and “petrol sippers”, given the current challenging economic climate and government’s seemingly inflexible stance on e-tolls.
“While a new car is always a ‘nice to have’, there remains a strong awareness among consumers of the benefits of lower-priced auction vehicles, particularly if they are in good condition with low mileage. Indeed, some of the cars on our floor are on a par with many of the ‘demo’ models that are so sought after at new car dealerships. The difference is, ours typically don’t cost nearly as much.
“There’s also wariness about becoming too indebted with the financing of expensive new cars, as interest rates begin to rise gradually once more. Consequently, bargain hunting is currently the name of the game.”
