Orlando Pirates can do the rest of the clubs in the DStv Premiership a massive favour if they are to end the unbeaten start that champions Mamelodi Sundowns have made to the new season. Sundowns have also not yet conceded a goal. More details at www.soccer6.co.za
M1 Chelsea vs Manchester City: The first meeting of the two clubs since last season’s Champions League final, which was the third win in a row for the Blues over Man City. But Chelsea lost 3-1 in the last league clash between the two clubs at Stamford Bridge last January, which hastened the departure of Frank Lampard.
M2 Manchester United vs Aston Villa: Man Utd are unbeaten in their last eight home matches against Villa, winning seven of them. Villa last won at Old Trafford in 2009 when Gabriel Agbonlahor scored the game’s only goal.
M3 AmaZulu vs Baroka FC: AmaZulu have won only one of five previous visits by Baroka, who have had two triumphs and forced two draws. Baroka FC beat AmaZulu 1-0 in Durban at the end of the last season.
M4 Orlando Pirates vs Mamelodi Sundowns: Pirates’ last three games against champions Sundowns have seen them concede eight goals and lose all of them. The Buccaneers have won only once in their past seven clashes between the two giants of the local game.
M5 Sekhukhune United vs Lamontville Golden Arrows: Newly promoted Sekhukhune United have four points from their first four games while Arrows have the same number of points but have played one game less. This is the first meeting between the two clubs.
M6 Everton vs Norwich City: Everton’s unbeaten run in the Premier League this season came to a stark end last Saturday with a 3-0 loss at Aston Villa. Norwich have lost all five of their league matches this season.
M7 Leeds United vs West Ham United: West Ham won both home and away against Leeds last season. The home side are yet to win in the Premier League in this new campaign.
M8 Watford vs Newcastle United: Watford are unbeaten in their past four outings against Newcastle with two wins and two draws. Steve Bruce’s team are still seeking their first win of the season.
M9 SuperSport United vs Maritzburg United: Maritzburg have won only three times in 32 past meetings with SuperSport, losing 19 and drawing 10.
M10 Stellenbosch FC vs Chippa United: Stellenbosch have turned around their fortunes after a poor last season and are unbeaten after their first four matches of the new campaign. Chippa have lost their last two games to hike up the pressure on coach Gavin Hunt.
