This race looked a two-horse affair but the scratching of Ambiorix has opened the door for Adam Marcus-trained Bereave.

RACE 7 NO 9 UNVERSAL – EACH WAY

This half-brother to top-class Vardy has run four times for two wins and looks very useful. He won his maiden by almost 10 lengths but failed in his next run after a layoff. However, there was a lot to like about his win last time out in a handicap against older horses. He is back against his own age group in the Cape Guineas and could cause an upset in what is a very open race.
