Vhahangwele started her career as a social media coordinator and content manager at Diversity SA. She joined The Citizen as an online sub editor in 2015. At The Citizen, she has acted as a lifestyle editor and night shift supervisor. She has won multiple awards, including most read story of the quarter and digital content contributor of the year. She holds a Bachelor of Journalism degree, with a major in English Language and Linguistics.
