Alberton SAPS launches manhunt amid shooting

A manhunt for two gunmen who left one dead and two injured over the weekend has been launched by Alberton SAPS.

On the morning of December 3, members of Alberton SAPS were called out to a scene of crime at Santo’s Tavern, one of its policing precincts in Rondebult.

Upon arrival, the men and women in blue found the deceased at the gate of the tavern. He was certified dead by paramedics.

Two culprits had reportedly opened fire killing the deceased. A second victim died on the scene and was taken to the Germiston mortuary. Two more victims were injured.

Captain Manare Ramotshela of Alberton SAPS confirmed that the two injured victims were taken to the nearest hospital for medical attention.

“The case docket is under investigation and the station commander of Alberton SAPS, Colonel Kelehile Letloenyane has launched a manhunt for these dangerous criminals. The public should not try to apprehend them as they are dangerous. Immediately contact the police,” he said.
