Learners from Tiny Bubbles Nursery School recently won a national singing competition.

LEARNERS from Tiny Bubbles Nursery School recently snatched up first prize in a singing competition.

The competition took place on August 24 at Maragon Private School in Roodepoort.

The national Kleuterzone championships, a programme presented by KykNet Nou on DStv, saw 40 learners being crowned for the second time since their participation.

The Florentia-based nursery school was among 30 schools that participated in the finals of the singing and dancing competition.

Schools that partook in the competition came from as far as the Western Cape and Mpumalanga.

Only five schools made it to the finals, and Tiny Bubbles was crowned the overall winner.

In 2017, Tiny Bubbles entered the competition and walked away in first position.

This year they walked away with five awards – overall winner, most organised group, best spirited, best gestures and most entertaining.

Carene Koekemoer, owner and principal at Tiny Bubbles, said the learners were given a standing ovation for their stunning performance.

“How Great Thou Art got the most votes and during the learners’ performance they were appreciated by the crowd.

“One of the songs performed by the learners got the audience cheering and singing along with them.

“I am very proud and grateful that we were honoured to be crowned national winners for the second time,” she said.
