ALBERTON Police recovered suspected stolen property earlier this month.
Sergeant Phora Nkuna, Alberton SAPS spokesperson, said police members on their normal patrol saw a man alongside the road carrying a bag.
“The officers stopped to search him, but he threw the bag on the ground and ran away,” Nkuna said. In the bag police found tools, two computer screens and a computer box.
In a separate incident police recovered what is believed to be stolen cables that were allegedly cut from an open space behind a petrol garage on the corner of Heidelberg and Old Vereeniging roads.
Security guards alerted police to the incident. Nkuna said the security guards tried to apprehend the suspects but they managed to flee.
The suspected stolen computer equipment and cables were booked in at the police station.
No suspects have been arrested for the alleged crimes.
