Manhunt for dangerous suspect

Police are warning the community to look out for a very dangerous suspect who has escaped from Palm Ridge High Court.

The Hawks are appealing to members of the public for information that may lead to the arrest of a most dangerous suspect who escaped from the Palm Ridge High Court on Monday October 21 at approximately 13:00.

The suspect was to stand trial for violent and serious crimes committed in Randfontein and Krugersdorp. These include murder, house robbery, business robbery, hijacking and attempted murder. He was arrested in August 2010.

The suspect is approximately 1.9m tall and well built. He is considered aggressive and dangerous. His last known address is at Kagiso.

It is believed that he is armed and members of the public are warned not to confront him but to contact the police when they see him. Anyone who has information may contact the investigating officer, Warrant officer Peet Venter of the Hawks 071 603 8808 or 011 951 1939.

Information may also be forwarded anonymously to Crime Stop 086 00 10111 or an SMS to Primedia Crime Line at 32211 at all hours.

Police have launched an internal investigation into the circumstances in which the suspect escaped.
