Major League DJz said to be leaving Mabala Noise

The label's spokesperson, Mhlo Gumede, however, said the twins were still part of Mabala Noise.

Following rapper Riky Rick’s announcement that he is leaving record label Mabala Noise, Major League DJz are also said to be on their way out. Twin brothers Bandile and Banele Mbere signed under Mabala Noise last year.

A source who reportedly spoke to Sunday Sun said the DJs, who were reportedly brought in by Riky Rick, were worried the record label administration behaved as if they were musicians or stars. The label did not see value in them on the music side but only on their events, claimed another.

Mabala Noise allegedly is not marketing the DJs’ single because it was not looking to sign them to begin with, and was instead going after Anatii and Cassper Nyovest as its targets.

But Banele denied the rumours and said the two were still part of Mabala Noise. The label’s spokesperson Mhlo Gumede reiterated Banele’s words and said the twins were still part of Mabala Noise.

Rapper Riky Rick last week announced he was no longer part of the record label.

In a series of tweets, the Sidlukotini rapper said the past couple of weeks had been “hectic”, further saying the speech he made at the Metro FM Awards two weeks back was “a moment of clarity” for him.

“I didn’t think about the consequences or who would get mad. I just wanted to do the right thing. Inspire the kids to not be slaves to them,” he said.
