WATCH: New Zealander breaks world record for a long drive
Phillis Meti smashes a 370m drive in the USA to illustrate just how tough the ladies can be on the golf course!

In an impressive display of Girl Power, New Zealander Phillis Meti broke the record for the longest drive in women’s golf history.
According to Stuff.co.nz, the 30-year-old smashed a 370m (406 yards) shot during the Mile High Showdown in Denver, USA.
The tournament precedes the World Championships in September.

While it’s undoubtedly a massive stroke, Meti’s distance was undeniably longer because her ball “kicked” off the surface when it landed.
It’s thought that her ball hit the top of a sprinkler.
However, the rules state it was still a legal hit.
Ironically, that shot came in the semifinal of the Showdown.
After reaching the final, she lost out to America’s Troy Mullins, whose shot of 341m (374 yards), was enough to keep Meti out.
Her biggest drive was 332m (363 yards).
In the men’s category, American Maurice Allen whacked a 398m (436 yards) monster drive.
