A source told Phakaaathi that the players – whose identities are yet to be established – approached Sundowns coach, Pitso Mosimane and offered to join his team.
“Egyptian football is stalling and Zamalek have toyed with the idea of quitting the league and the players are worried about a lack of game time which would stall their international careers,” said a source.
He also revealed that club president, Patrice Motsepe, has heard that there are teams after some members of is technical team including Mosimane.
“He wants to tie them down to a long-term contract, but said he would release Mosimane only if he is going overseas or to coach a reputable national team,” said the source.
