The man has been arrested after police received an anonymous tip-off.

One of South Africa’s most wanted fraudsters was arrested in Newark, south of Mandeni, in KwaZulu-Natal, on Wednesday morning, reports the North Coast Courier.

According to Umhlali police spokesperson Vinny Pillay, the man is one of the most prolific card cloners in the country, and has possibly targeted hundreds of people during his criminal career.

“It is a relief to the community that this criminal has finally been brought to book,” said Pillay.

“Many locals have been have been victims of his card cloning.”

Pillay said the man had been detained after police received an anonymous tip-off.

He congratulated Warrant Officers Govendor and Naidoo from Newark Police Station for their fantastic work in catching this fraudster.

“These guys have gone beyond the call of duty to arrest this man.”
