WATCH: Teacher manhandles pupil for ‘hiding something illegal’ in bag

The Gauteng education department has been made aware of the video, and has started 'interacting' with the school's management.

A video showing a teacher at Krugersdorp High School in Mogale City manhandling a pupil on Friday has emerged on social media. In the video, the teacher can be seen grabbing a pupil by his collar and pulling him towards his direction as other students follow.

According to witnesses who spoke to The Daily Sun, the teacher accused the boy of “hiding something illegal” in his bag. He apparently tried to take the bag from the defiant boy. “That’s when he manhandled him,” they told the tabloid.

Gauteng education spokesperson Steve Mabona told the tabloid the department was aware of the video, and had started “interacting” with the school’s management.

The teacher has received criticism on social media, with most calling for him to be dealt with.

These were some of the reactions on Twitter:

“Teacher had to resort to manhandling a student. No matter the cause I am sue it could have been handled better.”

“Okay people can anyone tell me why is that Guy being dragged like that? and what started the whole thing?”

“Whatever the boy did,the man is old enough to handle it like an adult! Not do what we just saw.”
