WATCH: Malema explains what it would take to fix his relationship with Zuma

The EFF leader shares that he still finds President Jacob Zuma 'charming.'


During an interview with Metro FM, Julius Malema opened up about finally being able to sit down and speak to Zuma.

For this to happen, it would have to be over a cup of tea said Malema. Once close allies, Zuma and the former ANCYL president’s relationship has been strained since Malema was expelled from the ANC. They haven’t spoken directly for the past three years, only meeting in parliament for government business.

“Personally I have no problem with president Zuma. He is a charming old man, there is life around him. If you had to interact with him, you would actually like him. I don’t think if I met Zuma tomorrow, I would have difficulty greeting him.

“I don’t think I would have difficulty sharing tea with him and telling him that he must resign. I would do it in such a way that he participates in the conversation. When he won in 2014, I think that was the last time I spoke to him. I called him and congratulated him…”
