Karabo murder suspect Sandile Mantsoe hasn’t committed suicide

A report circulating on social media has claimed Mantsoe committed suicide in his police cell.

Police have slammed a report as fake that Mantsoe is no longer alive.

On social media, a screen shot of a fake news report has been circulating, alleging that Mantsoe was found dead in his cell at the Sandton police station. The report claims police will call a press conference soon to announce the suicide.

However, SA FM has established that this is not true.

The fake news report was published by Mzansi Live, a website with a lot of other news that is also not credible.

Mantsoe is expected to appear in court on 24 May on charges of murder. Karabo was last seen entering his Sandton flat on April 28. Her body was later found burnt beyond recognition at a rubbish dump. A passerby who saw her remains thought it was a mannequin at first.

Mantsoe was arrested last week Thursday. According to reports, he has denied being responsible for Mokoena’s murder, with sources revealing he told police that he found Mokoena murdered in his flat and proceeded to burn her body after “panicking”.
