It cannot get worse than this, says Lindiwe Sisulu
The human settlements minister has become vocal about the internal battles plaguing the ANC in the wake of alleged death threats over her opposition to Zuma.

According to Human Settlements Minister Sisulu, who is understood to be a frontrunner for the position of ANC president at the party’s elective conference in December, the ANC has hit rock bottom.
Sisulu told Times LIVE, though the party has been through “worse” situations before, she was confident that things would get better. It appears Sisulu was referring to the factionalism within the ANC and the incident where Zuma insisted on attending a Cosatu rally in Bloemfontein and was forced to retreat after heckling by large sections of the crowd on Workers’ Day.
“It cannot get worse than this. We really are almost rock bottom. We can only go up now‚” Sisulu said.
“We have an election to win in 2019. That is our target because we have got to make sure all the promises we have made to our people‚ we deliver,” said Sisulu.
The minister made headlines a few weeks ago after reports that she was the target of death threats, together with ANC secretary-general Gwede Mantashe. Sisulu reportedly spoke out against President Jacob Zuma, questioning some of the decisions he had made during ANC NEC meetings, and this allegedly resulted in threats on her life, as she was seen as opposing Zuma’s leadership.
