Two illegal taverns closed in police operation

The Primrose police have continued their efforts to crack down on illegal taverns in the Germiston area, reports the Germiston City News.
During a recent operation, officers shut down another two illegal taverns in the Makause informal settlement and arrested two men, aged 32 and 39 years old, respectively.
The men were charged with selling liquor without a licence after they failed to show police their liquor licences during a search of each of their taverns.

“Police seized a large amount of alcohol from each of the taverns, which was taken to the Primrose Police Station.
“The alcohol will be destroyed at a later stage,” said Primrose police spokesperson Sergeant Styles Maome.
The men arrested in the operation were later released after they paid admission of guilt fines.
