Vehicle catches alight after collision

The vehicle spun out of control before bursting into flames.


Two people were injured after a collision on the R102 near the King Shaka International Airport intersection in KwaZulu-Natal recently, the Phoenix Sun reports.

It is believed that the vehicle spun out of control before bursting into flames.

Members of RUSA were dispatched to the scene after receiving several calls from passing motorists reporting the collision.

Upon arrival, it was established that a VW Polo GTi had collided into the back of a truck. The eThekwini Fire and Rescue Services arrived at the scene and extinguished the fire, however the vehicle was completely destroyed.

The driver and passenger of the VW Polo sustained moderate injuries and were treated before being transported to hospital.  The occupants of the truck were not injured in the collision.
