Man wearing Springbok jersey found dead

The body was discovered by a young cowherd herding cattle.


A young cowherd discovered a dead body in the Zenzele area at around 5pm on Wednesday, 28 December on the West Rand, Randfontein Herald reports.

According to Captain Appel Ernst, Randfontein police spokesperson: “It is alleged the shepherd, 12, was herding cattle near the Zenzele cemetery when he came across the body of an unknown man.”

“The Randfontein police were summoned and, upon investigation, it was found the deceased had bruises all over his body and the deceased is estimated to be between 25 and 30 years old. He was partially dressed in a green Springbok jersey,” said Captain Ernst.

Any person who might shed light on this unfortunate incident is requested to contact the investigating officer, Warrant Officer Rupert van Zyl on 082 322 1974.
