Man found hanging from tree in Joburg North

The man had called his employer to notify him he would be late for work.

The body of a man was found hanging from a tree on Alberts Farm in Johannesburg North on July 30, Northcliff Melville Times reports.

SCP Security owner Clive Maher said they were called to the scene at about 11am by a man who lived in the park.

“He said he went back to where he stays, and it was there that he saw the body of the man,” Maher explained. The body was found hanging by a strap from a tree.

Maher explained the body found did not seem be to that of a displaced person.

“The body found was of a well-dressed man who looks to have had a job.”

The body also had valuables on it, such as a cellphone, which kept ringing. Maher said paramedics took the phone out of the man’s pocket and managed to get hold of his employer. They are now waiting for him to be identified.

Maher said that the man’s employer said the man had called him earlier this morning and confirmed that he would be coming to work later today.

Gauteng Medical Services declared the man dead on the scene.
