Springbok Pharmacy broken into again

An unknown number of suspects allegedly broke into the pharmacy, targeting specifically the perfume, but were stopped.

Springbok Pharmacy in Alberton Mall has been targeted yet again, the second time in nearly as many months on Thursday.

An unknown number of suspects allegedly broke into the well-known pharmacy, targeting specifically the perfume, but were halted through the intervention of CPS Security, Alberton Record reported.

It appears the suspects used a metal pole to smash the window and then kicked it in to gain entrance to the pharmacy.

According to the manager of the pharmacy, Yvette Serrurier, the centre management’s security saw this happening on CCTV and contacted CPF Security, whose members were soon on the scene.

REPLACED: One of the broken windows has already been replaced.

“A gunfight ensued and one of the suspects was hit in the shoulder but was able to climb into the getaway vehicle with the other unknown number of suspects,” said Serrurier.

“I’m pleased there was nobody around when this happened. Stuff can be replaced but not people’s lives,” she continued.
