Man allegedly rapes teenager at gunpoint

The man had told the girl he was there to repair her father’s car.

Police are searching for a man who raped a teenage girl in Chief Albert Luthuli Park in Benoni, on the East Rand.

“The victim alleges that she was alone at home on Tuesday when she heard a knock on the door,” said Crystal Park police spokesperson Warrant Officer Rudi Sieberts.

“She opened [the door], and with a security gate still locked, she found an unknown male at the door.”

The man told the girl he was there to repair her father’s car, to which she said he should return when her parents were home, Benoni City Times reported.

“The suspect then grabbed her hand through the security gate and threatened her with a knife and ordered her to open the door,” Sieberts said.

The man allegedly raped the girl at gunpoint.

“After the ordeal, the suspect threatened the victim not to tell anybody about the rape, otherwise he would kill her. He then left,” Sieberts added.

Sieberts said the victim claims to have seen her rapist, who has a scar on his face, in the area of the N12 informal settlement in Chief Albert Luthuli Park.
