Security guard discovers body of newborn in a packet

The scene of the gruesome discovery has been cordoned off and police are investigating.
A La Lucia Mall security guard discovered the body of a newborn baby in a packet under a tree near the La Lucia shopping mall in Durban.
According to Kyle van Reenen of Marshall Security, the shocking discovery was made by one of the onsite security guards who alerted Marshall Security on Sunday, Berea Mail reported.
Crisis Medical paramedics rushed to the scene and confirmed that the body was that of a deceased newborn baby.
The gender of the baby is unknown at this stage.
The scene has been secured and police are investigating.
