WATCH: Fatal accident claims life of 8-year-old girl

It is alleged the driver of Jetta fled the scene.

A girl child was declared dead on the scene after she was flung from a Mazda Drifter double cab she and her other sisters aged 10 and 11 were travelling to school in Mpumalanga, Middelburg Observer reports.

The VW Jetta, suspected of skipping a stop street, burst into flames directly after the impact of the crash, and the driver of the car can be seen running away from the scene in the video.

A nearby resident said that she offered to go and fetch the mother of the Musavange children after they could not be reached by phone. A distraught Mrs Musagange (first name currently unknown) arrived on the scene and refused to accept her youngest’s death.

At one stage she shook her girl and called out her name, begging her to respond. The woman was then rushed off to hospital to be with her other two children.

An elder sister is said to have collapsed at her younger sister’s feet, repeatedly mumbling “Someone help me! Someone please help me!”

Video material from a house on the corner of Kiepersol and Sering streets in Kanonkop, shows the horrific accident that happened.
