Taxi driver robbed of over R10k

The suspects, some of whom were armed, fled on foot after the robbery.


Durban North police are investigating the robbery of a taxi driver that took place near the eMdloti RTI building on the N2, Northglen News reports.

According to Captain Raymond Deokaran, spokesman for the Durban North police: The driver was robbed of R10 820.”

“He pulled off on the yellow line to pick up passengers. Six men approached him, some of whom were armed with handguns. They took R10 820 in cash which the driver had been collecting from his fares throughout his shift. The men then fled the area. The driver was unharmed in the incident,” he said.

No arrests have yet been made.
