Woman killed in Hillcrest taxi accident

The woman’s body was lying on the median when they paramedics arrived, and the taxi that hit her had stopped a short distance from the scene.


A woman was killed when she was hit by a driver of a taxi at the intersection of Old Main and Kassier roads in Hillcrest, KwaZulu-Natal, on Monday.

The woman is believed to have been in her 40s.

Paramedics said the woman’s body was lying on the median when they arrived, and the taxi that hit her had stopped a short distance from the scene, Highway Mail reported.

ER24’s Russel Meiring said the women had numerous injures and showed no signs of life.

“Nothing could be done for her, and she was declared dead on the scene,” said Meiring.

One of the passengers in the taxi had minor injuries and was treated at the scene.

The taxi driver was not injured in the accident.
