Man arrested for possession of live ammunition

Police could not confirm if the man was linked to a group of gunmen who went on a shooting spree two weeks ago.

A man has been arrested after he was found with live ammunition in Olievenhoutbosch, Centurion, in Pretoria.

Police spokesperson Constable Kat Selepe thanked residents for their help in arresting the man on Sunday, Rekord Centurion reported.

“In yet another community-driven success, the police in Oliventhoutbosch responded to a tip-off and arrested a man in Extension 23 for possession of live ammunition,” said Selepe.

“We are still searching for another man after the suspect told police the ammunition belonged to his friend.”

Selepe said the man was expected to appear in the Pretoria Magistrates’ Court soon.

Police could not confirm if the man was linked to a group of gunmen who went on a shooting spree in Olievenhoutbosch two weeks ago.
