Unapologetic Bonang says she’s disappointed by recall

The star's team will not be drawn into discussing if she had proofread her own book, saying several people close to the project had.

Exclusive Books has issued a recall on Bonang’s memoir, From A to B, telling customers they can get a refund on the book after the publisher said a new edition without factual and grammatical errors would be published.

Bonang’s manager, Sylvester Chauke, told Tshisa LIVE that Bonang was disappointed by the recall, but unapologetic for the errors, as they were the responsibility of the publisher.

Chauke said several people close to the project had proofread the book.

“Bonang and her team’s only focus is on the future and moving forward. I don’t want to go into the details of what happened because we are focusing on the future‚” he said.

Readers were quick to spot embarrassing errors such as missing words, incorrect grammar and the wrong birth date for Bonang. Readers took to Twitter to highlight these, with Bonang finally responding that she took the flak for the errors on behalf of all black women who sought excellence, but sometimes fell short.

The publisher stated there were only two pages with major errors, and the rest of the book was fine.
