Phakaaathi sources have revealed that former Mamelodi Sundowns, Kaizer Chiefs and Royal Eagles striker Katlego Mphela will most likely complete his move to Baroka FC this week.

“Mphela left (Royal) Eagles. He came for contract extension talks but stayed for three days and left. We hear he is talking to Baroka and he has agreed terms and ironing out a few minor details now,” said a source.

Mphela spent one season at Eagles in the National First Division and scored 10 goals before a fall-out with then-coach Khabo Zondo saw him spending more time in the stands than on the field.

“He looked sharp in training in the three days he spent here. Kosta Papic (Eagles coach) tried to convince him to stay as he seeks to have the team promoted to the Premiership, but it is clear he already had his mind set on moving to Baroka,” added the source.
