KZN 16-year-olds tie the knot

The young husband says people should refrain from commenting because the two of them know what they are doing.

Two sixteen-year-olds, one in Grade 9 and another in Grade 10, tied the knot in KZN during the weekend, Isolezwe reports.

The publication reported that the husband is Siyacela Dlamuka who married Thando Msomi. The former told the newspaper that he was not nervous about tying the knot at a young age because he was a brave man, adding that people should not interfere in his and his wife’s affairs.

It was reported that the two teenagers planned to host two ceremonies for their wedding – one traditional and one in a white dress.

The newspaper reported that lobola was paid for the young bride.

Siyacela was quoted as saying that people should refrain from commenting about them getting married at a young age because they knew what they were doing.

However, the wife was nervous about the fact that she was not certain if she would be able to continue with her schooling once she was married.

It was reported that the wedding would be televised on Moja Love on May 18 at 7.30pm.
