Three hot décor trends that are here to stay

These stylish looks reflect our need to comfort, cocoon and connect with nature.

Trend 1: Simply striking

Inspired by Scandinavian design, this look is stripped back and stunning! Combine faded tones, comfortable furniture, weathered woods and texture to create a calm haven. The neutrals featured in this colour palette are warm and yellow-based and include shades such as oatmeal and beige. If you incorporate dried flowers and pampas grass, you’ll be ticking another trend box too!

Trend 2: Earthy tones

Nature has inspired many of the colours that are in vogue this year, including shades of green and grey, ocean blues and sandy browns and beige. It plays a key role in the types of furniture that’s trending too – think rattan, bamboo and wicker – and the textured accents we’re choosing for our homes, like wool cushions, sisal rugs and seagrass baskets. If you want to go bold, consider a dark blue or green on an accent wall or statement piece of furniture.

Trend 3: Grandmillennial

Also known as “granny chic”, this style is for you if you love nostalgia, floral prints, chintz, vintage furniture and décor items like those you might have found in your grandparent’s house (silver, china, glass, embroidered linen…). The look is about cosy comfort, but can be busy, so make sure you incorporate a few simple pieces and natural materials to keep it contemporary.
