The current-generation Isuzu mu-X has been around for a while now and has been giving the likes of the Toyota Fortuner and Ford Everest sleepless nights.
For the 2021 model year, Isuzu has taken the wraps off its all-new mu-X SUV that is based on the D-Max bakkie.
On the outside, the new Isuzu mu-X comes with Bi-LED projector headlights while the front grille boasts a detail-oriented formative design. The rear is bolstered with sharp taillights.
Inside, there is an instrument panel that stretches across the cabin with a large-size display located at the centre.
The system consists of an accentuated formative design extending to the right and left, and a seamless formative design from the centre cluster to the floor console.
Speaking of dimensions, the new Isuzu mu-X is 4 850 mm long, 1 870 wide and its height is measured at 1 875 mm while its wheelbase is rated at 2 855.
The new mu-X is slated to arrive in South Africa in 2021 and it is expected to get its power from two engine options; a 1.9-litre unit with 110 kW and 350 Nm.
The range-topping variant is powered by a 3.0-litre engine that gushes out 140 kW and 450 Nm and can be had with a six-speed automatic gearbox plus a four-wheel-drive system.
The range-opening 1.5-litre comes with a choice of a six-speed manual or a six-speed automatic.
