Neena to represent SA at international pageant

Zululand beauty queen to compete in world pageant in Germany this year

RICHARDS Bay model Neena Bezuidenhout will represent South Africa at the Miss GlamourFaces world pageant in Germany in March.

The 20-year-old beauty queen will compete against 71 other title holders from around the globe during the week-long event from 5 to 12 March.

Bezuidenhout said this pageant is unique as it focuses on your face and inner beauty, so there are no restrictions on height or physical body features.

Last year she took a break from the modelling scene to focus on her studies and successfully qualified as a makeup artist, hairstylist, body line consultant and fashion stylist.

In 2016 she completed her studies in fashion design.

‘I was excited about taking the title of Miss GlamourFaces South Africa and the opportunity to represent our country as well as my home town of Richards Bay.

‘This is a huge pageant with big name brand sponsors such as Wella , Ferrari and also the film industry associated with Hollywood and Bollywood.

‘It will certainly open doors of opportunity on the international front.

‘I am still pursuing my career towards completing my studies to qualify as a image and stylist consultant.

‘My dream is to leave my footprint on the international stage and make my community proud, so I am also appealing to businesses and fashion designers in Zululand for their support too,’ she said.

Background

Neena’s modelling career began when she was three months old and won her first title as Miss Jelly Tot.

She began her official modelling training and entering pageants at the age of two.

Over the years she accumulated numerous title and eventually had the honour of serving the Zululand community through charity work as Miss Zululand 2014.

‘Winning Miss Zululand gave me a platform as founder and owner of my own anti-bullying campaign called ‘Never Look Back’.

‘The aim was to inspire, motivate and empower both the victim and perpetrator and also create awareness about this issue.

‘As a victim of bullying with first hand knowledge about this subject, I am happy to say the campaign has been running successfully for four years now.’

She also won Miss uShaka Marine World 2015-2016 and was the brand ambassador and face of uShaka.

In 2016 she scooped the Miss United Continents South Africa title and competed in Ecuador at the Miss Continentes Unidos pageant where she was placed in the top 10 and was ranked 8th in the world.

She was also Miss Tourism Metropolitan South Africa and competed at the international pageant in Cambodia.

She is continuing her charity work and her involvement in supporting and creating awareness for the SPCA Richards Bay, Down Syndrome SA, Feed The Babies Fund, CANSA Relay for Life and LifeLine Zululand.
