Dancing his way to the top

Local dancer Danger Flex is now a face of the Mr Price clothing chain

EVERY shopping centre has a display of his photos, and all major highways have his billboards.

Richards Bay dancer Mthobisi Khethinkosi Nduli (21) known as Danger Flex is dancing his way to the top and taking over the world of dance by storm.

This Zululand artist is moving up the entertainment ladder and has many before him quaking in their boots.

Not only has this emerging shaker landed a major deal with a national clothing chain, Mr Price, but has top SA artists knocking at his door.

Danger Flex became the face of the store chain after executives acknowledged his talent after seeing his dance moves on various social networks.

‘It took me a long time to be here and I’m still humbled and thank God for giving me such an incredible opportunity to be a face of such a big clothing store,’ he said.

Danger Flex fell in love with dance when he was only eight-years-old, and at age 16 during a school beauty contest he took centre stage for the first time and never looked back.

He started performing at hip hop events in eSikhaleni, Empangeni, KwaDlangezwa and Richards Bay before moving to other places.

In 2015 he positioned his career in the heart of digital marketing by recording and posting his dance moves to all social media platforms.

With over 40 thousand likes on his Facebook page and 7 000 followers on Instagram, 10 000 subscribers and over a million views on YouTube, his work went viral throughout social media.

During his rise, global icons such as OkMalumKoolKat, Cassper Nyovest, Black Coffee, DJ Cleo and DJ Bongz noticed and since then he has been dancing for the big musos in the country and featuring on various music videos and television shows.

Danger Flex has an overflowing bag of achievements which includes winning the Zululand’s Got Talent and Yethu Scholars Talent Search.

He has performed with the likes of Black Coffee, Maraza, Bhizar, Bhar and DJ Tira during the Vodacom Durban July as well as the Fact Durban Rocks.

He recently graced the Club 808 stage on eTV and also made an appearance on the iNinja music video.

This entertainer now wants to build a local dance fraternity and encourage other dancers to focus on their craft.

‘My idea is to make dance a brand and for all dancers to also know they can do it if they focus,’ he said.
