Teen Richards Bay model makes huge impression

Nicole said the trip to the USA was an experience of a lifetime

THE future looks very bright for Richards Bay teen model Nicole Steinberg after she recently attended the international round of the ARTS (Applause Rising Talent Showcase) in Florida, America, and received no fewer than five callbacks.

Among the international modelling agencies that expressed an interest in Nicole were Major Model Management, one of the top five modelling agencies in New York.

Front Model Management, MMG, the New York Film Academy and Trinity Model and Talent also each issued her with a callback.

Nicole’s two-week stint in the US included workshops in modelling, dancing and acting, photographic movement (catalogue photography) classes, as well as talent scouting auditions.

‘Photographic movement was my favourite and most inspiring class.

‘The tutor was truly inspiring and I learned a great deal from him to help me both in front of and behind the camera,’ said Nicole, who also has a passion for photography.

The rosettes and certificate Nicole received

Come the end of her two weeks which were crammed full of learning and new experiences, Nicole was among the top five in both the swimwear and fashion runway categories.

To top it all off and make her trip even more memorable, she received a personal invitation from Kim Myers, one of the most revered talent scouts in the world, to Hollywood in December to celebrate ARTS’ 20th anniversary.

‘While I was not very nervous, I was extremely surprised to have received so many callbacks, and even more surprised when Major Model Management asked to interview me straight away.’

Of Nicole’s success at the event, mom Vicky Steinberg said: ‘I knew she was good, but seeing how far she has come has left me speechless.

‘There have been so many people who have helped Nicole get to where she is today, for which we are very grateful.’
