Zululand duo to present theatre production

Zululand entertainment tag team to present a killer stage performance in Richards Bay next month

THE exciting life of an artist will come alive when two Zululand entertainers take centre stage at Birdswood in Richards Bay on Thursday, 3 August.

Dancer, model, musician and poet Swazi Manana (21) will join forces with actor Mthandeni Mbambo and showcase their talent during a theatre production The Night of a Storyteller.

The show aims to raise funds for Swazi who will be jetting off to Florida in the USA next year.

Swazi was selected earlier this year after he outshone hundreds of hopefuls during national auditions.

During the show, Swazi will interpret his experience as an entertainer through music, dance and poetry, while Mthandeni will deliver various monologues about his life as a well known actor.

Swazi is rated as one of the top performers in the region and in the province.

‘I am glad to be working with this talented young man. Not only are we going to give a killer performance, but we will offer a different show which has never been done in the area,’ said Mthandeni, who is no stranger to theatre and television.

In his overflowing bucket of accomplishments he has worked in many TV and theatre productions, such as the musical Afrika My Home, in which he played alongside Mondli Makhoba of Uzalo and Abdul Khoza of the Mzansi Magic telenovela, The Road.

He was also part of Mbongeni Ngema’s Sarafina, and two Zululand productions, Death of the Emperor Shaka and The Devil’s Autograph.

He has made an appearance on the Mzansi Magic telenovela Rockville, and is part of the call in cast of the SABC1 soapie Uzalo.
