Tamica reaching new heights

Richards Bay teen Tamica Biggar (13) is selected for the International pageant in Tennessee in the USA

MODELLING comes naturally for Richards Bay teen Tamica Biggar (13), who has been selected to compete at an international pageant in Tennessee in July.

She was selected after she impressed the judges at the Mini Miss RSA last year.

She is currently the reigning Miss Pre-Teen Zululand, as well as Miss Teen Cancer Day and Night.

This bubbly beauty also has several other titles under her belt, including Miss Teen Christmas Royalty, Miss Teen Natural Summer, Miss Teen Tourism Queen Zululand, Miss Winter Royalty, Miss Toddlers and Tiaras and Miss Dolosfees.

In March 2015 she was crowned Miss Pre-Teen Mzanzi Africa and also scooped the Public Choice Award and the Philanthropist Award.

Tamica is not just a beauty queen, but a straight A pupil who also has provincial colours in chess.

‘Beauty pageants are about far more than just a lovely exterior. One has to be a worthy ambassador, as well as being rounded academically and socially,’ says the young Tamica.

Her most recent achievement is being scouted as a face of Hub Stores.

‘It is quite amazing to see myself in catalogues and on billboards countrywide. For me this is a dream come true.’

This young lady has the community’s best interest at heart, and is actively involved in charity work.

She works with the Richards Bay SPCA, Amangwe Village, Zululand Hospice and the Lungelo Youth Development in Mzingazi.

In these organisations, she spends her time with underprivileged kids and supports their initiatives.
