Lights of love burn brightly

Hospice Tree of Light shines in the rain

WITH love in their hearts for the many families who have lost loved ones through terminal illnesses, not even pouring rain could prevent the annual switch-on of the Hospice Tree of Light on Tuesday evening.

Zululand Hospice staff, committee members and a team of brave volunteers decided the show must go on, while a reasonably sized crowd arrived to pay tribute to their departed and to honour the Hospice caregivers.

The event was held at the Zululand Observer premises in Empangeni, where the Tree of Light – each bulb symbolising a precious life remembered – will burn brightly over the festive season.
