THE annual year-end function for Island View Shipping is always an entertaining affair and this year’s offering was no exception.
Held on Tuesday at the NSRI base in Richards Bay, where IVS regularly contributes substantially to equipping and maintaining the station, a number of the company’s overseas staff were part of the gathering.
In addition to enjoying a fine meal and good fellowship, the visitors enthusiastically toured the Station 19 base and were especially interested in inspecting the NSRI flagship ‘Spirit of Richards Bay’ and learning how her crew responds to emergencies at sea.
The evening ended on a positive humanitarian note when the ample surplus food was donated by IVS to the House of Shalom.
