Neena makes top ten
Neena Bezuidenhout comes 8th in the Miss United Continents Unidos 2016
SOUTH African women are the most beautiful in the world – and that is not just according to Trevor Noah.
Local beauty Neena Bezuidenhout‘s first international pageant in Ecuador ended in sweet victory when she finished 8th in the Miss United Continents Unidos 2016 pageant.
Neena says it was a dream come true.
She was the first SA representative in this pageant and at 19, also one of the youngest.
‘I am humbled, proud and blessed – all my years of hard work and dedication definitely paid off.’
Neena also gave her impressions of Ecuador, where she travelled for a month, visiting Guayaquil, Machala, Gualaceo, Latacunga, La Libertad, Cuenca and Salinas.
‘The cities had similarities to SA and reminded me of home, but the culture, cuisine and language were much different.
‘I learned basic Spanish within the two months of preparation. I enjoyed every moment of this once-in-a-lifetime experience.
‘This opportunity allowed me to see so many beautiful parts of Ecuador I will forever cherish and united me with beautiful women from all over the world.
‘I am now considering entering the Miss South Africa competition.
‘I want to thank my family, friends, national directors, Lenie and Elize Pieterse, my coach Angelique Wright and my Trelique family for their unconditional love and support.’
