Bay beauty goes international

Richards Bay High School pupil Courney Coetzer has landed 14 international modelling agencies

INTERNATIONAL modelling agencies are vying for the attention of 16-year-old Richards Bay High model Courtney Coetzer (16), after spotting her at the Applause Rising Talent Showcase (ARTS) in Orlando, Florida.

Courtney, a Grade 11 pupil, is applying for her work visa and will soon be jetting off to exotic international destinations with no fewer than 14 modelling agencies lining up with contracts.

Courtney started modelling at the age of 15 and was scouted by Just You Model and Arts Management at a modelling exam.

Just You invited her to the IATS (International Arts and Talent Showcase) in October last year, where she attracted the attention of international talent scout Kim Myers.

Myers handpicks models throughout Africa to attend ARTS and Courtney received a personal invitation to the event, where agents from all over the world gather in search of new talent.

Two boot camps and a photo shoot organised by Just You prepared her for the overseas adventure, where she participated in the categories Fashion Runway, Creative Runway, Photography Swimwear, Fashion Theme and Commercial.

She returned triumphantly in early August with several offers to pick from.

Courtney will start modelling abroad during the school holidays until she completes her matric next year, whereafter she will pursue her international career full-time.
