Bikers show a ton of love for SPCA

Bikers love to ride, so combining this with with a good cause resulted in an exceptional fundraising project

ALLIGATORS Motorcycle Club in partnership with RBaycoast Entertainment have earned themselves a place on the Empangeni SPCA wall of friends after they raised just over R5 000, donated nearly one ton of dog and cat food and handed over a trailer full of blankets.

Organisers Wayne and Marissa Jones came up with the idea to have a charity run starting in Richards Bay, moving to KwaMbonambi and then back to Empangeni – collecting some much needed items at every stop.

Bikers love to ride, so combining this with with a good cause resulted in an exceptional fundraising project.

As with all good plans, it never goes off without a hitch.

On the day, it was pouring with rain – but this did not deter the hardy bikers, who all came together at the end of the day at Alligators MC’s ‘Swamp’ in Tanner Road for some live entertainment, a demonstration by the Empangeni K9 unit and of course, a few prizes.

‘We want to thank each and every person who donated for their support.

‘To our sponsors, Mustangs, Casa Nieto’s, Crazy Co, SPAR Essenwood, Coe Lanie, Adriaan de Villiers, Hennie Horn, Priscilla Rauscher, Charl’s Photography, Ride High Yamaha, Suzuki, Pastor Steve from the CMA, Iron Eagles and Budolphs. A special thank you from the bottom of my heart for making it possible,’ said Marissa.
